Music Lessons Tulsa | Diligent Doer

This content was created for Curtis Music Academy

Today in this edition of the Curtis music Academy podcast from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’m going to be talking a lot about the delusion to her versus the happy, hipper, and I know that an a ton of podcasts, we’ve talked about this, even if you Google diligent doers these days, it pops up under one of our podcasts, which is a little bit embarrassing because you always like to think that no one actually reads these, but if someone were to click on it, they would be directed directly to that podcast article online. And that is just terrifying to me. But that’s all right because this is really good for us in terms of getting those keywords up on Google and making sure that we’re, you know, always at the top of those search lists when you use guitar lessons and Tulsa or piano lessons, adults like music lessons Tulsa.

So if you come to take music lessons Tulsa at Curtis music Academy, whether you’re taking guitar lessons or piano lessons, vocal lessons or whatever it might be that you want to take would teach a variety of instruments. We are really adamant that you become adult Dewar and not a happy hoper so adamant about this. In fact that we have sticky notes that resemble it. We’ve got a giant poster board in the living room waiting room area that talks about it. It’s really important to us Curtis music Academy and it’s one of the things that we really prioritize with all of our students no matter how old they are, but especially with children.

So a diligent doer at Curtis Music Academy in music lessons Tulsa is a person who is always striving to be better, throw a striving to improve. They practice regularly. They use their instruction time to ask questions and get help on the video. This is a big one because just like in school, if you’re doing, if you’re not doing anything at home and you come into class and things are full speed head and confused and lost and you’re not making very much progress is because you haven’t put in the work at home accredited music Academy, we really prioritize student.

We want to make sure that they are, you know, doing the work at home and doing the easy stuff, the silly little finger mistakes or small reading mistakes, those can be correct in a home, but what you should be using your instruction time for, you’re not those silly little things, but instead the big really difficult parts of a song are things that are really, really, truly confusing technically or whatever it might be. You’re not supposed to use your lesson some time to work on things that you should be working on at home because that’s not how you’re gonna maximize, maximize the effectiveness of your lessons.

You’re actually going to minimize the effectiveness doing that up. You maximize the, the effectiveness of your lessons by constantly working at home and practicing and staying on top of it. That’s how you’re going to get the most bang for your buck. It could be this, like Austin’s are not cheap and we are very, we recognize that a Curtis music Academy, so this is one of our tips on how to really maximize the effectiveness of your lessons. So a Curtis music Academy, we really focus a lot on Megan Tillerson to her. And another thing that this means is that diligent doer is someone who was always working towards their goals and they know their goals. So one of the things that we see a lot is students get burnt out and they don’t really know what they’re doing.

They get lost and they stopped taking music lessons Tulsa because they don’t actually know their goals. Knowing your goals, it can be something as simple as going back and remember why you started taking music lessons Tulsa in the first place, why you started signed up for lessons, whether you’re paying for them yourself, but your parents aren’t. Why? Why did you sign up? This is a good way to get back in your head and see why you’re doing what you’re doing because it’s really easy that when things get hard, it’s super duper easy to go back and not want to do it anymore to quit and accrues me. See lb, we’re going to try our best to make sure that that does not happen.

So one of the things that we talk to our students about is in fact, looking at your goals and remembering them one way that we propose that you remember that would be doing something as simple as writing in on a sticky note, keeping it on your piano or your guitar at home, writing it on your phone, putting it in a calendar. All of these things are really good options for reminding yourself consistently of your goals. Because when things get hard, if you don’t have a foundation as to why you’re doing the thing that you’re doing, you’re going to have a really, really hard time deciding and figuring out why you’re doing it in the first place.

You’d probably going to quit. That’s just how life goes. But we want to make sure that our students are not quitting Curtis music Academy. We’re gonna make sure that they’re having a good time and staying motivated, keeping up with their music lessons Tulsa. So it’s definitely one of the things that we definitely prioritize here with our students at Christmas Academy. No. One other thing that adults do or does that happy hope or does not do is they set frequent and regular practice time. So they look at the stuff that they needed practice and they set specific times throughout the week and these times can vary based on the individual.

You never really know. It depends on how much time you have. So for instance, some young kids, they should probably practice for about 30 minutes a week, but if they were to try to sit down and practice for 30 minutes at one time, that would not go over very well as their kids and they really small attention span so they’re not going to stay focused for that long. So what we recommend for them, it’s split it up in a couple of days, doing smaller sections, whether that be one in the morning, one in the afternoon, one in the evening that are all 10 minutes a piece or whatever that might be.

But you need to be having a consistent practice schedule because if you don’t have a consistent practice schedule, that’s going to be really hard for you to stay on top of it. And actually get work done. So Curtis music Academy, we really want to focus on that and make sure that all of our students are practicing consistently. Want to practice consistently. Just set a timer on your front. We always walk around with these phones, but I don’t think we take full advantage of the most of the time. That’s one thing that you can do to take advantage of your cell phone and make sure that you’re maximizing the effectiveness of your lessons is by writing down in your calendar and reminders or alarms to set actual practice times and then stick to them.

If you know you’re going to get off work at five and you might want to eat dinner first and set an alarm for seven 30 and practice then for half an hour. So it’s all based on the individual student. One of the things that we really do best at Curtis music Academy that we focus on the individual student, but the diligent doer applies to every single one of our students. We want to make sure that every single one of our students is following this because that’s how you maximize the effectiveness of your lessons.

No matter what they are with a piano lessons or vocal lessons or guitar lessons, music lessons Tulsa I don’t know. We just want to make sure that you’re maximizing the effectiveness of them and that you’re being diligent to her through practicing regularly, coming to music lessons Tulsa regularly, not skipping and doing all the things that you need to do to be successful at your instrument because you truly, sincerely cannot expect to get better if you’re not going to put in the work to practice your instrument, work hard on it.
