Piano Lessons Tulsa | Not A Happy Hoper

This content was created for Curtis Music Academy

People who are happy hopers are people who just want to jump around and learn a bunch of new things. But it’s really important that you were foundational in our learning and that we’re teaching the students what they need to know and this sense that we have to do some of the boring stuff while we do tailor all of our piano lessons Tulsa to specific growth tailored instruction like I’ve talked about, have been Chilean times before. I know we tailored it all to our individual students’ needs and goals, desires. But one of the biggest things that we also do is we have to teach the basics and the foundations, no matter how boring they are cause they’re happy or is someone who’s going to want us to bypass all that just don’t want us longer or something of that nature.

But it’s really critical that Curtis music Academy, we are teaching people the foundations and the essential is that way they can go on to learn a lot of different things because the diligent doer recognizes that that they need time to go over difficult things and that songs are going to take a while and they will not be successful if they are jumping around from piece to piece and are never actually learning the basics in piano lessons Tulsa, the foundational knowledge. Following all of these things as a diligent dewar, you shouldn’t be able to reach your goals and go above and beyond what you even wanted to learn.

It allows you to make the most of your practice time, the most of your lesson time, and really helps you thrive as a musician. The happy hope, or on the other hand, they are just not committed to their goals. The happy hopper thinks they want to do something and then it gets hard and they kind of give up. Once they give up, they try to learn something new and that does not work. So the second thing happening Oprah does is they focus on new material. They don’t want to go through the hard stuff, the daunting practicing of the fundamental things that they need to learn. Rather they get too excited and they jump to the next big thing when they don’t really have a grasp on the first thing.

So it’s really important that you keep practicing the hard things, the fundamental things before you can move on to other things. Also, the happy hoper uses the piano lessons Tulsa to work on only new materials so they’re not going home and practicing, which means they’re not asking all the hard stuff in their piano lessons Tulsa because they don’t know what the hard step is since they haven’t had time to practice or simply have a practice One way that you can really keep tabs on your practicing is by like setting an alarm, something of that nature. I know a lot of our students, if they get home from work at five they’re adults.

We’ll say, look at home at work at five 30 they’ll set an alarm for around seven o’clock at night and they’ll sit down in practice for about two hours at a time cause they recognize that if you start to skip, it’s definitely a slippery slope and you’re going to be so much more willing to skip. So there’s a lot of things you can do to remember to practice and be that diligent you of the person that’s consistently and always practicing. We had a lot of people who tell us, you know what, Ron, I can’t practice. I always forget. You know. So one of the things that we recommend is by setting an alarm on your phone, setting a timer for a specific time every day.

If you struggle with keeping on track, you can set a timer during your practice time so that you know how long you should be practicing before you can write it in your planner. A credited calendar. There’s a million ways that you can keep tabs on what you’re supposed to be practicing and how, what days one to practice. It’s really actually really easy. The only thing that adults do or does is they are always asking hard questions. They’re asking questions. So if they’re confused in the lesson, they’re going to make it very known that they’re confused, they’re going to say what’s confusing. Then they’re not going to be so nervous that they refuse to talk to their instructor. It’s really important that it doesn’t ruin any of the students ask questions as they go along because like I said, it’s really difficult to learn music.

And if you’re not asking questions then you’re not allowing our fantastic instructors to do their job. And that means that we are not, we’re not going to be able to maximize how we’re teaching you if you don’t know, if you’re not asking questions if we don’t know what you’re struggling with. So that’s how we are able to teach you the best is if we know what is difficult for you. That’s how we, you know, learn how to, how to help you with that and stuff like that nature. So it’s really important that you’re asking questions about things that you’re confused about and not embarrassed or shy to talk about it.

Another thing that I didn’t talk about yet is that the dilution dura is also a really good keeping track of what they weren’t. So one of the biggest motivating things I could talk to a lot about goals, the banning of this, but one way that you can keep track of your goals and how you’re doing in them is by writing down the things that you’re learning in the things that you’ve actually succeeded at. If you keep all of your individual small goals written down, you can always look at them. It’s motivating to see how much, how much you’ve progressed through your piano lessons Tulsa. It’s going to help you push through the difficult times and to get on to, you know, the harder things that are ahead because you are able to see how far you’ve come. Interesting. Even just a few short weeks.
